Everything happens by Allah's divine decree (Qada') and preordainment (Qadar). A Muslim is required to be content with Allah's decree, and this is obligatory. However, disliking what has been decreed is not forbidden in Islamic law. For instance, feeling pain from an illness is not a sign of discontent with Allah's decree itself, but rather with what has been decreed. There is no harm in suppressing one's feelings sometimes, as long as it does not lead to harm. It is important to note the prohibition of a Muslim ridiculing another Muslim. While enduring harm with patience, it is advisable to counsel those who cause harm with kindness and remind them of Allah, for enduring trials with patience elevates one's ranks and atones for sins.
