Is it possible to seek refuge in the Prophet's City (Madinah) to escape apparent and widespread tribulations (fitan)?

Medina expels its impurities, and its goodness becomes clear. It expels those whose faith is not sincere, and only those whose faith is sincere remain therein. The Dajjal (Antichrist) will not enter it. Among the reasons for remaining steadfast in guidance are: frequent remembrance of Allah Almighty, prayer, and recitation of the Quran; persistent supplication; associating with good people; staying away from places of doubt and temptation; arming oneself with Islamic knowledge; and inviting others to Allah.
