You are not required to recite Surat Al-Baqarah or Al-Mu'awwidhatayn to ward off envy. However, it is prescribed to seek refuge [with Allah] and supplicate by consistently observing the morning and evening adhkar, such as reciting Al- and Al-Mu'awwidhatayn three times, and saying: "O Allah, I ask You for pardon and well-being in this world and the Hereafter..." It is also prescribed to recite Surat Al-Baqarah or other parts of the Qur'an and to ask Allah through it for protection.
