Are miracles performed for the impious, and what is their reason if they occur to them?

"The natural order may be broken for the unrighteous and sorcerers. The difference between the miracles (karamat) of the saints and magic and sorcery is that the miracles of the saints are caused by faith and piety, whereas the supernatural feats of the enemies of Allah are caused by disbelief, wickedness, and disobedience. The saints to whom miracles are granted are people of faith and piety. As for the innovator or the disobedient, a miraculous event might occur at their hands for reasons: either it is not for their own sake but to demonstrate the triumph of Islam and faith, or due to their need for it in their faith or worldly life."
