Is a woman held accountable for the continuation of a two-year dispute between her and her sister, and is it true that her deeds will not be raised, given that she knows her sister is stubborn and she does not know how to deal with her?

It is not permissible to abandon a Muslim for more than three nights, and this matter becomes worse among relatives, especially between two sisters. Abandonment and animosity prevent deeds from being raised to Allah. The two sisters must end the abandonment, reconcile, and maintain ties of kinship. The minimum of this is to offer salutations (salam), as some scholars believe it is sufficient to break the forbidden abandonment, while others believe it is not broken until the relationship returns to what it was before the abandonment.

Imam Ahmad was of the opinion that merely offering salam is not enough if there is aversion or turning away; rather, the relationship must return to what it was before the abandonment. Some scholars differentiated between relatives and strangers; for strangers, offering salam is sufficient to end abandonment, but for relatives, a true connection is necessary due to the obligation of maintaining ties of kinship.

Therefore, the questioner sister must strive against herself, connect with her sister, and return the relationship to what it was before this abandonment, while taking into consideration the characteristics of the life stage her sister is going through.
