Is one's circumambulation valid if the pilgrim doubts the second and third circuits of his circumambulation, and so performs two substitute circuits for them?
Reciting the prescribed supplications during the circumambulation (Tawaf) is recommended, not a condition for its validity. Some scholars have cited the Prophetic tradition narrated by Aisha, elevated to the Prophet (PBUH): "Indeed, the circumambulation of the House (Kaaba), between Safa and Marwah, and the throwing of the pebbles were instituted for the remembrance of Allah." However, this hadith was deemed weak by Al-Albani, though authenticated by Al-A'zami, and its chain of narration revolves around Ubaidullah bin Abi Ziyad. Therefore, the first circumambulation is valid, and there is no need to repeat it.
