Is it obligatory for a worshipper to violate the employer's rules and perform the prayer on time, knowing that this will expose him to dismissal from his job, for which it is difficult to find a replacement?
It is astonishing that a Muslim would prevent another from prayer (Salah), which is an obligatory duty that is never waived. Its abandonment is considered disbelief by many scholars, and it brings provision and repels poverty, as indicated by the noble verses. Allah Almighty has condemned those who forbid prayer and the hypocrites who forbid good.
The factory owner is advised to invite his workers to prayer so that goodness may prevail. As for the worker, if the employer completely prevents him from praying until its time has passed, then there is no good in this job, and it should be left. However, if the employer allows him an opportunity to pray at the workplace, even if not at the very beginning of the time, he may continue, but he should search for another job where he can perform prayers in congregation, due to the serious danger of abandoning it to one's faith, especially considering the view that congregational prayer is obligatory for those who are able to perform it.
