Is it obligatory to slaughter one or two sheep for the first and second sons after several years, and is it permissible to eat half of one of the two sheep slaughtered for the third son?

The aqiqah is a confirmed Sunnah, not obligatory. It is recommended for one who has not performed the aqiqah for his children due to poverty or ignorance to do so later, even if a long time has passed. Two sheep are sacrificed for a male and one sheep for a female.

It is permissible for the grandfather to perform the aqiqah for his grandson. If the grandfather sacrifices one sheep for the grandson, the father can complete the Sunnah by sacrificing another sheep for his son, or he may be content with what the grandfather has slaughtered.

It is recommended to divide the aqiqah into three portions: one-third for eating, one-third for gifting, and one-third for the poor. However, if one eats it all or does not give any of it in charity, it is still sufficient.
