What is moderation (wasatiyyah) in Islam?
Moderation is the best and highest option for anything, and it is the most just aspect of everything. The best of things are their middles, and both extremism and negligence are blameworthy. Both Islamic law and reason call for moderation and balance, for humankind was created weak and prone to lassitude, and moderation is suited to its condition.
This Muslim nation is a moderate nation in prophecy, law, and rulings. The came with moderate obligations that suit the servant's capacity. It is a moderate nation among nations, and the Ahl al- wa al-Jama’ah are moderate within the Ummah, between its contending sects and denominations, adhering to the Qur’an, the Sunnah, and what the Pious Predecessors agreed upon.
