Should one abandon memorizing the Qur’an because of persistence in a forbidden relationship that one does not intend to end except through marriage or despair of it?

We advise you to repent to Allah Almighty for speaking with that woman, and to desist from your persistence in conversing with her. If you wish to marry her, then propose to her guardian; otherwise, turn away from her. You must stop communicating with her. We also advise you not to abandon the idea of memorizing the Quran, so exert your efforts in memorizing it and acting upon it.
