Is the Caliph Ali ibn Abi Talib, may God be pleased with him, the Wali (Friend) of God? Are the narrations mentioned in this regard authentic? Are Ali, Fatimah, and the two Hasans on the level of prophets?

Ali ibn Abi Talib is one of Allah's honored awliya (saints/friends) and the fourth of the Rightly Guided Caliphs, possessing numerous virtues.

Among his virtues are the Prophet's (peace be upon him) sayings: "You are from me and I am from you," and "Indeed, Ali is from me and I am from him, and he is the wali (guardian/friend) of every believer after me." Scholars have differed on the authenticity of this hadith; some have authenticated it, while others have weakened it due to the unique narration of Ja'far ibn Sulaiman Ad-Duba'i, who was a weak Shiite.

Assuming the hadith is authentic, it does not indicate Ali's succession after the Prophet (peace be upon him), because the word "wali" has multiple meanings and is not limited to leadership. Furthermore, Ali was not a ruler over every believer until the Day of Judgment, and the phrase "(wali) of every believer in this world and the hereafter" negates the meaning of rulership. The Companions did not use this hadith to prove Ali's caliphate. The correct meaning is one of love, support, and backing, for Ali is the wali of every believer during his lifetime and after his death, and this is not restricted by time.

As for the claim that Ali, Fatima, Hasan, and Husayn are on the same level as the Prophets, it is a false and blasphemous claim, because Prophets are chosen by Allah, and no one other than the Prophets can reach their rank. Whoever believes this must be asked to repent, otherwise he is to be executed.
