Who said, "But they disobeyed out of wretchedness," and does it mean that a person is predestined for what they were created for?

This statement was narrated by Ahmad ibn Abi al-Hawari from his shaykh, Abu Sulayman al-Darani. Its attribution to either of them is not surprising, as such well-known sayings may be attributed to or spoken by the person himself. Its meaning is understood in light of belief in the levels of divine decree and destiny. Allah is the Creator of His servants and their deeds. He decreed the destinies of all creatures fifty thousand years before He created them. Those destined for Paradise were predestined for good even when they were in their mothers' wombs, as stated in the noble Prophetic Hadith: "Indeed, Allah created people for Paradise, He created them for it while they were in their fathers' loins, and He created people for Hell, He created them for it while they were in their fathers' loins." And Allah says: "Indeed, those for whom the best [reward] has preceded from Us - those will be removed far from it." The "best [reward]" (al-Husna) refers to the happiness decreed in eternity, which is facilitated for them through ease in righteous deeds in this world. And it is mentioned in the Hadith Qudsi: "There is none among you but that his seat in the Hellfire and his seat in Paradise have been written. So perform deeds, for everyone is facilitated for that for which he was created. As for those who are among the people of happiness, they will be facilitated for the deeds of the people of happiness. And as for those who are among the people of wretchedness, they will be facilitated for the deeds of the people of wretchedness."
