Ka'b ibn Zuhayr embraced Islam in the year 8 AH, after the Prophet, peace and blessings be upon him, returned from Ta'if. He came to the Prophet secretly, after his brother Bujayr had sent him a letter advising him to come to the Prophet, peace and blessings be upon him, because he does not kill anyone who comes repentant.
