Is it obligatory for the questioner to leave his job in the tourist village immediately, or should he continue in it until he finds an alternative, knowing that his current job does not involve carrying alcohol, and that his educational qualification is not suitable for another job, and given his desire for religious commitment, and how should he respond to his colleagues' doubts about the permissibility of working in tourism out of necessity, and the struggle of the self (jihad al-nafs), and the doubt about haram money?

Working in tourist villages is forbidden due to the evils they contain and the violations of sacred limits. It constitutes cooperation in sin and aggression. Therefore, one must leave such work unless there is a compelling necessity that permits remaining in it temporarily, provided there is security from temptation. The argument that permissible jobs may be mixed with some forbidden elements is not a justification, because the origin of permissible jobs is lawfulness, and the mixing of a small amount of forbidden with a large amount of permissible does not make it forbidden. Moreover, merely working in these villages is an aid to evil, and it is not permissible to be present in places of iniquity without necessity.
