Is it permissible to continue investing in a company that will add a forbidden activity, while disposing of the forbidden portion of the profit, or is it obligatory to exit the investment entirely?

The majority of scholars prohibit investment in companies whose activities involve forbidden (haram (definition)) things. Some scholars permit investing in them, provided that the cleaning (purification) of the haram proportion is observed. According to the view of the majority, which is the more preponderant opinion, one must avoid investing in companies where forbidden and permissible activities are mixed, and instead seek pure investments that are free from doubt.
