What is the ruling on the actions of a person who claims to treat people with the Qur’an but asks them to perform acts such as using cloth, clay, and salt to bring about marriage, writing words with saffron to attract provision, and using sugar, sand, or beetles for various purposes? And is it permissible to accuse him of sorcery?

The state of the aforementioned man is one of sorcery and magic. It is not permissible to believe sorcerers, nor to act upon their directives, nor to go to them. Causality in matters is either lawful, like honey and the Qur'an, or providential through direct, apparent experience, like being burned by fire. Psychological feeling is not a way to establish causes. Therefore, one must be wary of this man, believing him, or seeking treatment from him.
