Does the wife's contribution of her money to household expenses diminish the husband's authority over her and her obedience to him, and does it permit her to leave without his permission?

A wife's obedience to her husband in what is good is obligatory. Thus, it is not permissible for her to leave his house without his permission, except in cases of necessity, due to his guardianship over her. The man's guardianship is not solely because of his financial support for his wife, but also because Allah has favored him over her with a complete intellect and discernment, a complete religion, and obedience in jihad, enjoining what is good and forbidding what is evil, and the expenditure of wealth through the dower and maintenance.
