Is the wife obligated to help her husband with household expenses, and is it permissible for him to abandon her when angry?

The husband is obligated to provide for his wife and daughter; the wife is not obliged to contribute to this provision. It is commendable for her to assist her husband, and she will be rewarded for it. It is not permissible for the husband to boast to his wife about what he spends on her, because boasting invalidates charity, and doing so in an obligatory matter is even more forbidden.

Similarly, it is not permissible for the husband to hurt his wife with words when angry. He should control himself and seek refuge in Allah from Satan. It is not permissible for a Muslim to abandon his brother for more than three nights, especially if there is no disobedience on the part of the wife. The wife should obey her husband and recognize his great right over her.
