Should the morning and evening adhkar be recited from a booklet, or memorized and supplicated with hands raised like du'a, especially those adhkar that begin with "Allahumma"?

The general rule for supplication (dua) is to raise the hands in humility to Allah, except in cases where the Prophet (peace be upon him) consistently made supplications without raising his hands, such as during prayer and the Friday sermon.

Memorizing dhikr (remembrance of Allah) is not obligatory, but it is better for achieving humility and contemplation. If you do not memorize them and read them from books, that is also good, as the Prophet (peace be upon him) was satisfied with a man’s comprehensive supplication even though he had not memorized the dhikr.
