ما معنى الحديث المفصَّل في علم الحديث؟

1 min readAlso available in العربية

An mu'dal hadith is one from whose chain of narration two or more consecutive narrators are missing, whether the omission is at the beginning, middle, or end. Some muhaddithun (hadith scholars) have made an exception for omissions at the beginning of the isnād, considering such cases specific to the mu'allaq (suspended) hadith. The mu'dal hadith is considered weak, and its condition is worse than that of the munqati' (disconnected) hadith due to the greater number of omissions from its chain of narration.
