Is following one's whims (hawa) applicable to someone whose inclinations align with a jurisprudential opinion, even if it is a weak one, such as someone who follows the view that permits music?

Following whims and desires is forbidden for a Muslim, and this includes seeking out the concessions and mistakes of scholars. Instead, one must follow the most authoritative opinion when jurists differ. Among the anomalous views is the assertion that music and accompanying singing are permissible, whereas there is a consensus on their prohibition. The more a person turns to revelation, the more they distance themselves from whims and desires, as Allah Almighty says: "And do not follow [personal] inclination, lest it lead you astray from the way of Allah."
