Partial shaving (qaza') is reprehensible ( tanzihi), and it involves shaving part of the head and leaving part of it. The reason for its reprehensibility is that it disfigures one's appearance, or because it is the style of evil people or Jews. Trimming the sides without trimming the top is not considered qaza'. The earnings of someone who does this work are permissible, though it is advisable for him to seek a better job.
