Calamity is a constant companion to uprightness, and it is a sign of the sincerity of faith and the soundness of conviction. Relief is contingent upon patience with it. Allah is more merciful to His servant than his own mother, and He decrees nothing but good for the believer. Be patient with calamity, for Allah is with the patient. Increase your acts of obedience, remembrance of Him, and supplication to Him, and know that "whoever safeguards Allah, Allah safeguards him." Avoid the whispers of Satan and continue striving. Treat your family with gentleness and kindness, and pray for them. Associate with the righteous. If a suitable suitor comes to you, hasten to marry. If your father refuses, you may take the matter to a judge.
