The meaning of "the requisites of Your mercy" refers to its causes which necessitate mercy for the one who recites it, and "the assurances of Your forgiveness" means its requisites and the deeds that confirm forgiveness. As for "the gain from every righteousness," it means obedience and worship that allow the promptings of the spirit to overcome the self. And "safety from every sin" means the permissibility of asking for protection from sins, which is permissible for those other than prophets and angels, even if it is more befitting to ask for preservation.
