Should I return the value of what I took from the man who assaulted me, knowing that he said it was a gift? How can I expiate the sins I committed, and is what happened considered fornication? Is my informing my teacher about the incident, without revealing that it concerned me, considered a disclosure of myself after Allah's concealment? Should I tell my husband what happened, and how can I make him love the mosque when I feel I am falling short? What are the factors that aid in studying and abandoning laziness?

This man would not have done that to you except with your assistance to him. Whatever money or gifts you took because of him are haram (unlawful) and must be disposed of by giving them to the poor and needy. This action of yours is a prelude to zina (unlawful sexual intercourse), which necessitates ta'zeer (disciplinary punishment) and correction. Sincere repentance is obligatory through seeking forgiveness, refraining from dealing with non-mahram men except out of necessity and according to legitimate Islamic guidelines, and increasing in righteous deeds. Do not despair of your repentance being accepted, for despairing of Allah's mercy is a grave sin. You must invite your husband to prayer and the rituals of Islam, and do not tell your husband what happened, for concealing sins is obligatory. The most important thing that helps with studying is repentance and seeking forgiveness, for sins weaken the heart and the body.
