If a man with multiple wives leaves the house of one of his wives during the day, upon his return during the day, does he go back to the wife with whom he did not spend the day, or does he go to his other wife, and then return at night to the one with whom he spent the night and from whom he departed?

A husband must be just among his wives in the division of time. The basis of this division is the night, which was created for dwelling and shelter. As for the day, it is for livelihood and work. The husband is permitted to go out during the day for need and work, and the day is included in the division according to the night. If the husband leaves his wife's house during her day, or at the beginning or end of the night when it is customary for people to be out, there is no need for him to make up for it unless he prolongs his stay outside the house. However, entering another wife's house during her day is permissible for a need, but he is not allowed to have intercourse with her or prolong his stay with her. If he prolongs his stay, he must make up for it. If the husband travels and then returns, he should return to the wife he was with before traveling to complete her right, and then he divides his time thereafter. The duration of travel is not counted against the wife he traveled with.
