How can one respond to the specious argument that the Qur’an is incapable of establishing a sophisticated society and keeping pace with developments in every era, on the pretext that it was revealed to a primitive society?

The Quran is the Book of Allah for all people, in every time and place. It addresses the intellect and does not contradict sound human nature; rather, it elevates it in all aspects of life. Sayyid Qutb stated that the Quran is a complete system for a comprehensive life, guiding human activity. Non-Muslim scholars have attested to this, such as Irving, who mentioned that whoever applies the Quran will attain the good of this world and the Hereafter. As for those who claim that the Quran does not keep pace with developments because it was revealed in a primitive society, Sayyid Qutb responded that the law of the Quran is a law for every time and place, and whoever claims otherwise asserts a knowledge that surpasses the knowledge of Allah. Therefore, the only successful methodology is derived from the Quran, and no attention should be paid to the suspicions of the enemies of Islam, which aim to weaken Muslims.
