Will a believer be rewarded for the social harm they experience due to a sin committed by a relative?

A Muslim's exposure to harm affecting their wealth, body, or honor expiates their sins or elevates their ranks, as stated in the Hadith: "No calamity befalls a Muslim except that Allah, the Exalted and Glorious, expiates [sins] for him, even a thorn that pricks him." The trial concerning one's honor is evidence of this, as exemplified by the Prophet of Allah (peace be upon him) who was tried concerning the honor of the Mother of the Believers, Aisha. The Hadith that narrates the story of the infant who spoke in the cradle, and called upon his mother not to make him like the arrogant rider, but to make him like the oppressed handmaiden who was falsely accused of adultery and theft, indicates the virtue of patience in the face of injustice. It also shows that a Muslim is rewarded for their patience in enduring harm, even if it comes from their own relatives.
