What is the ruling on describing a deceased woman to non-mahrams?

It is forbidden to describe women to men if there is no legitimate benefit, for fear of arousing desires and temptations and violating the modesty of Muslim women. This includes describing both living and deceased women.

However, if the description does not pertain to areas of temptation, does not harm anyone, and does not stir up temptation—for example, describing a woman as having been tall—then there appears to be no impediment to it when there is a need. As for describing anything that infringes upon her sanctity or arouses the listener's desire, it is impermissible.
