Is it obligatory to leave studies in mixed-gender universities when no other option is available, if one's heart inclines towards women, despite a strong presumption of not falling into the unlawful?

Mixing in universities is forbidden and a path to fitna (temptation/strife). The general rule is that studying in them is not permissible except out of necessity or need, provided that the Muslim does not fear fitna for themselves. They must exercise caution, maintain seclusion, lower their gaze, guard their chastity, avoid closeness with women, strive to minimize evil, and choose righteous company.
