Is a husband permitted to prevent his wife from communicating with her mother, who harms her, abuses her husband and children, and seeks to tarnish their image?

If a mother's visit leads to harm for the husband, then he has the right to prevent his wife from visiting her, and to prevent the mother from visiting her. The wife must maintain ties with her mother in a way that does not harm him, such as by calling and inquiring, and it is not permissible to completely cut ties with her; because the mother's right is great, and Allah commanded good companionship with parents even if they are polytheists and command their child to associate partners with Allah.
