Does a man's repentance, a sincere repentance, after having practiced sodomy, become acceptable, and does his wife become forbidden to him, knowing that he fulfills his religious duties?

1 min readAlso available in العربية

Sodomy is a great evil and its punishment is severe. No people committed it before the people of Lot, whom Allah punished by engulfing them in the earth and pelting them with stones of baked clay.

Allah created people with an inclination towards interaction between males and females. Deviating from this natural inclination is evidence of a depraved soul or being influenced by provocations.

The cure for this sin lies in sincere repentance, preoccupation with obedience to Allah and His remembrance, keeping company with righteous people, blocking all avenues leading to indecency, and frequently supplicating and remembering death and the reckoning.

Indeed, morals are acquired, and for every ailment there is a cure. Your remorse and repentance are signs of goodness, so trust that Allah accepts the repentance of those who repent.
