During an argument with my wife, I told her, "You are divorced" twice at different times. Then, while reading a message from her, I said to myself in a low voice, "You are divorced," unintentionally stopping at the letter Qaf. I ask: Do these count as three divorces, and is my wife forbidden to me?

All praise is due to Allah, and peace and blessings be upon the Messenger of Allah, and upon his family and companions. To proceed:

If you uttered the words of divorce to your wife while you were conscious and not overwhelmed in your mind, then the divorce has occurred, even in a state of intense anger. An explicit divorce takes effect without intention or purpose; merely uttering it causes it to occur. However, if you were overwhelmed in your mind due to obsessive thoughts (waswasah) or a slip of the tongue without intention, then the divorce does not occur. It is advisable to present the matter to trustworthy scholars for them to consider the details of the situation.
