Is one who designs a program for scanning the information systems of various institutions sinful if the program has no relation to usurious transactions, but his professor might sell it to institutions that deal in usury, knowing that he cannot stop working on this project because his graduation certificate depends on it?

You are not permitted to develop this program through the mentioned company as long as it will be used in the field of usurious banks, because it involves cooperation in sin and aggression, which Allah has forbidden, saying: "And cooperate in righteousness and piety, but do not cooperate in sin and aggression." Similarly, it is not permissible to contract with it for work if you cannot limit yourself to designing programs for permissible activities. You do not bear sin if your professor sells the program to institutions that use it for unlawful purposes, unless you agree to it. We advise you to search for another company through which developing the program would not be objectionable.
