What is the ruling on a woman who harms her husband or mother as a result of psychological fluctuations during menstruation or childbirth?

1 min readAlso available in العربية

Allah has legislated His rulings for men and women equally, taking into account the weakness of women and what they experience of menstruation and postpartum bleeding. Thus, He has lightened for them religious obligations such as prayer, fasting, fighting, and attending Friday and congregational prayers. However, this does not exempt them from obligations under the pretext of tension during menstruation and postpartum bleeding. Rather, they must strive against themselves and adorn themselves with good manners. The religiously acceptable excuses are error, forgetfulness, and extreme anger, not bad manners resulting from tension.
