From where should a pilgrim (performing Umrah or Hajj) coming from Italy to Jeddah for work for one month enter into a state of Ihram? Should he enter Ihram from Jeddah, or from the Miqat? And from which Miqat should he enter Ihram for Umrah, or for Umrah and Hajj together?

One who travels by plane for 'Umrah must enter into ihram when they are abreast of the Miqat designated by the Prophet, peace and blessings be upon him. It is not permissible to delay the ihram until after the Miqat. If the traveler intends to perform 'Umrah immediately upon arrival, they must enter into ihram from the Miqat they will pass. It is preferable to take precaution by entering into ihram slightly before the Miqat due to the speed of the airplane. It is not permissible to delay the ihram until Jeddah. If the traveler does not pass by one of the Miqats, they must enter into ihram when they are abreast of the nearest Miqat to them. Just as 'Umar ibn al-Khattab, may Allah be pleased with him, commanded the people of Iraq to look for the alignment of Qarn al-Manazil and enter into ihram from there, similarly, air travelers must enter into ihram when abreast of the Miqats. Whoever delays ihram until they reach Jeddah has transgressed the limits of Allah, and they must enter into ihram on the plane when abreast of the first Miqat they pass.
