What is the ruling regarding someone who arrived in Jeddah from their country to perform Hajj and Umrah, and entered into a state of Ihram from Jeddah Airport instead of the Miqat?

The Prophet (peace be upon him) designated specific places for assuming ihram, called "Miqats." It is not permissible to pass them without ihram for anyone intending to perform Hajj or Umrah. Whoever bypasses them without ihram has wronged himself. The Ahadith have clarified these Miqats for the people of each region, including Dhul-Hulaifah for the people of Madinah, Al-Juhfah for the people of Ash-Sham, Qarn Al-Manazil for the people of Najd, Yalamlam for the people of Yemen, and Dhat Irq for the people of Iraq. It is obligatory to assume ihram from these Miqats or when in line with them, whether by land, sea, or air. It is recommended to perform ghusl (ritual bath), apply perfume, and wear the ihram garments before reaching them, and to assume ihram when in line with them or slightly before that, especially on an airplane due to its speed.
