Who is Sheikh Abd al-Rahman al-Mu'allimi, and what are his most prominent works and investigations?

Abd al-Rahman ibn Yahya al-Mu'allimi was born in 1313 AH in Yemen, where he received his initial education. He then moved to Jizan, where he assumed the position of chief judge and became known as "Shaykh al-Islam." After theAmir of 'Asir passed away, he traveled to India and worked for thirty years at Da'irat al-Ma'arif. He then returned to Mecca in 1371 AH and was appointed as the librarian of the Grand Mosque (Haram al-Makki). Many scholars praised him and described him as an erudite verifier (allamah muhaqqiq). Among his most famous works are: "Al-Tankil bima fi Kutub al-Kawthari min al-Abatil" (Punishment for the Falsehoods in al-Kawthari's Books), "Haqiqat al-Ta'wil wa al-Radd 'ala al-Mutasawwifah al-Qa'ilin bi Wahdat al-Wujud" (The Reality of Interpretation and a Refutation of the Sufis Who Advocate the Unity of Existence), and "Al-Hukm al-Mashru' fi al-Talaq al-Majmu'" (The Legitimate Ruling on Accumulated Divorce). He passed away in 1386 AH after performing the Fajr prayer.
