The husband is not entitled to take anything from his wife's salary as long as he has permitted her to work and has not stipulated otherwise. The house she bought with her money is her property. It is not permissible for the wife to refuse her husband's bed except for a legitimate reason, such as illness, menstruation, an obligatory fast, or harm befalling her. It is not permissible to refuse due to a lack of desire or aversion. If the wife dislikes her husband to the extent that she cannot fulfill his rights, then khul’ (divorce at the wife's instance) is permissible for her. However, if the husband loves her, then her patience is preferable. It is advisable to engage in understanding and patience, as affection requires patience, overlooking mistakes, and focusing on the good aspects. Love is not a prerequisite for the stability of married life, for how many homes are not built on love but on care and good manners.
