Is spending on one's wife and children considered among the sadaqat (charitable giving) for which the reward reaches seven hundredfold, and if not, what is its reward?

Spending on one's wife and children is a religious obligation, and it is among the greatest types of expenditure in reward from Allah. Its reward surpasses that of other forms of charity and striving with horses. The reward for this expenditure does not cease as long as it continues, and it is a form of spending by which a servant seeks the countenance of Allah the Almighty, receiving a multiplied reward for it, like other good deeds.
