Should I tell my family and friends what I have learned about the religion, or should I remain silent until I become more righteous and gain deeper understanding?

The advisor or enforcer of good is not required to be perfectly upright. Rather, he should command and forbid even if he is deficient, while striving to rectify himself. Al-Qurtubi said: "Satan wishes he had achieved this, so no one would command good, and no one would forbid evil." So, continue spreading good and teaching people, and you will be rewarded for that. Your shortcomings in acts of obedience do not justify concealing the good you know, and the Hadith (definition) says: "Whoever points to a good deed will have a reward like that of its doer." If the deficiency is in obligatory duties, then you must perform them and call people to them.
