Is it permissible to perform the 'Umrat al-Tamattu' before the 'Umrat al-Mufradah, and is the first 'Umrah performed in Dhul-Qa'dah considered Tamattu' or Mufradah?

'Umrat al-Tamattu' (the enjoyer's Umrah) is when a person performs 'Umrah during the months of Hajj (Shawwal, Dhul-Qa'dah, Dhul-Hijjah) with the intention of performing Hajj in the same journey, and the offering of a sacrifice (hady) becomes obligatory upon him if available. However, if a person performs 'Umrah during the months of Hajj with the intention of performing Hajj in the same year without leaving Makkah, his 'Umrah is considered 'Umrat al-Tamattu'. If he does not intend Hajj, or intends it after departing Makkah by a distance of qasr (shortening prayer distance), then his 'Umrah is an 'Umrah Mufradah (single 'Umrah). If he travels after 'Umrah a distance of qasr (approximately 83 km) and then performs Hajj, his tamattu' is severed, and he is not required to offer a hady according to many scholars. Performing 'Umrah is permissible at any time, and repeating it is recommended by many scholars.
