Is it permissible for the Mutamattiʿ, who has completed his ʿUmrah and is awaiting the Day of Tarwiyah, to perform another ʿUmrah, and is a hady required for each ʿUmrah he performs?

It is permissible for the Mutamatti' (one performing Hajj al-Tamattu') who has completed his 'Umrah and is residing in Makkah awaiting Hajj, to perform 'Umrah again, especially if he leaves Makkah and then returns to it. This does not result in a doubling of the damm (sacrificial animal) for Tamattu', because he will perform Hajj only once, and thus only one damm is required of him. As for repeating 'Umrah for someone who has not left Makkah, there is a difference of opinion among scholars: some have permitted it, and others have deemed it disliked.
