Is it permissible to marry another woman after the marriage contract with the fiancée and feeling an inclination towards another?
We advise you to keep your fiancée if she is religious, well-mannered, and intelligent. Remember the words of Allah Almighty: (And it may be that you dislike a thing while Allah brings through it much good) and the Hadith: "A believing man should not hate a believing woman; if he dislikes one of her characteristics, he will be pleased with another." Beware of being deceived by beauty alone, for a beautiful woman may burden you financially and exhaust you with her character. It is also recommended that the wife not be excessively beautiful, for fear of her displaying herself (tabarruj). You should lower your gaze except for the woman you intend to propose to. You may marry another if you are able to be just. Encourage her to beautify herself and tell her what you find appealing. If you are not satisfied with her and aspire to marry another woman of religious commitment, there is no harm in proposing to another while apologizing to the first fiancée and her family.
