Is it forbidden to mention the names of Allah Almighty, His noble verses, and supplications in a place where there is music while conversing with family?

It is not permissible to play or listen to music. However, there is no harm in performing dhikr (remembrance of Allah), supplication (du'a), or recitation in the aforementioned place, unless the voice is raised to the extent that the dhikr and Qur'an intermingle with the sounds of musical instruments, as this contradicts the glorification of Allah's verses and names. The musical instruments must be stopped if possible. Otherwise, one must leave the place where there is an evil that one cannot change, for among the etiquettes of recitation is to avoid places of clamor. Scholars have explicitly stated the impermissibility of raising one's voice with the Qur'an in markets due to the degradation of the Qur'an inherent in such an act.
