How is an inheritance distributed between the wife and the children when a partnership (ishtirakiyyah) ceases upon death? Does the wife inherit only one-eighth, or can she take half with it by virtue of the partnership?

A divorced woman does not inherit from her ex-husband if he dies, because the marital relationship between them has ended, unless the divorce was revocable and he died while she was still in her iddah (waiting period).

A wife does not share in her husband's properties merely because she is his wife, and any law that imposes this is invalid.

If the woman participated with her own money in purchasing the house, then her share in it is her right and is not forfeited by divorce or death. Only the husband's heirs inherit his share.
