How did the Prophet, peace and blessings be upon him, treat his family in detail?

The Prophet, peace and blessings be upon him, treated his family with great character. He would joke with young and old alike and would not become angry for himself unless the sacred limits of Allah were violated. He was humble, treated his wives in a manner befitting their understanding, and would sometimes race them. He never found fault with any food.
