What should one do whose debts have accumulated, whose longing for his family has intensified, who has lost his money, effort, and time, and who has failed to achieve his goals despite his diligence, and whose situation has reached the point of losing trust in everything, and who is only capable of supplicating and weeping to God? And is what is happening to him a punishment, a trial, or magic?
Despair and weakness due to trials are among the most harmful things that can afflict a person. Allah tests His servants to examine their patience and servitude. It is not permissible for a Muslim to have a bad opinion of Allah or to believe that his rights have been diminished.
The following is recommended: 1. Relying on Allah and depending on Him, with certainty that what has befallen you was not going to miss you, and what has missed you was not going to befall you. 2. Beware of pessimism. 3. Having a good opinion of Allah Almighty. 4. Taking the necessary means while leaving the results to Allah to decree them by His wisdom, knowledge, and mercy.
