Is it permissible to postpone all prostrations of recitation (sujud al-tilawah) and combine them after completing the entire reading of the Qur’an, or is it obligatory to prostrate at each verse of prostration individually?
It is prescribed for a Muslim to prostrate when passing by a verse of prostration (Ayat al-Sajdah), whether in prayer or outside of it. It is not permissible for him to bypass the verses of prostration to collect them and prostrate for them all at once after finishing the recitation; because this action has no basis and disrupts the order of recitation. The prostration is due to the reading of the verse, and delaying it removes the prostration from being caused by the recitation due to the length of the interval, which is disliked and an innovation. The Salaf (pious predecessors) used to dislike that.
