Scholars have differed concerning the ruling on a husband preventing his wife from visiting her parents. The more preponderant opinion is that he should not prevent her unless he fears corruption for her. If he prevents her without a valid reason, she may visit them without his permission to an extent that does not deviate from custom. The wife is not considered disobedient to her mother if her husband prevents her from visiting her. The husband is advised to allow his wife to visit her mother and to be just between his two wives.
